Are you concerned for:
- The health and well-being of a vulnerable
older adult?
- A caregiver who, despite their best
intentions, is overwhelmed and losing the ability to cope with the
demands of care giving?
Call CAI for confidential information about local
resources and possible alternatives for resolving the situation. CAI
offers a variety of home care and case management services designed to
enhance living situations and reduce caregiver stress. In situations
where abuse is reported, information about how to obtain help from Adult
Protective Services is provided.
Adults most at risk of neglect, abuse, and
exploitation are:
- Elderly and frail, especially those living
alone
- Severely developmentally or physically
disabled, and dependent upon a caregiver
- Those without close family or friends who
visit regularly or help them manage their personal affairs
- Confused or depressed, and not capable of
caring for their daily needs
- Withdrawn from social activities and
interactions with peers
- Known for being easily taken advantage of, or
for letting others make decisions for them that are not in their
best interest
